2 stars (Wicom SuperPen pro) - I am really disappointed with the item. The wireless feature is NOT really wireless. You can only beam about 10 -20 words via infrared. With all the new technology it is way behind the consumer expectations that you still have to use a cable to transfer data. I can not see that it would take that much to fix the problem, so the enduser will be able to use the infrared for data transfers. I wonder if they never heard about bluetooth technology either. It takes some time to get used to the pen, scanner recognition is about 80% ok. IF YOU SCAN REALLY SLOW! For that the company calls them self "world leader in personal, portable scanning pens" I think that there is a lot of room for the competition to the real leader!!!!!!!!!!! 3 stars (just alright) - this is a good item if you have poor handwriting but take notes from books. Some what difficutlt to operate initially but with practice is helpful if you like to keep track of small passages. Is it worth it. depends on how much you use it. 5 stars (great scanning, good IR connectivity) - I've had it for a day and have not even attempted to connect via cable to the PC. BTW, the unit came with serial cable, and Wizcom is sending a USB cable for free. I am hapy with IR. I beam scanned text to my PDA and the PC. I can also receive text files from the PDA and the PC. It has two main functions Dictionary/Thesaurus and scanning text to be trasfered. I bought it primarily for the first option and i order to hear pronunciation of and meaning of words I do not recongize. Its speaker is not too loud, so you need to bring it closer to the ear, but it has regular L/R earbuds with volume. I set the options to automatically pronounce a word after I scan it and show definitions. Medical, Computer, Wall Street, etc dictionaries are alredy pre-loaded. ResumeMaker Career Edition

3 stars (Dissapointed with the Resume Maker Software) - I recently purchased this software from Amazon, and I've been experiencing technical problems from the moment it was installed on my computer. I am using the program at work, on my brand new Dell system, and it just won't act right! The print preview function creates error messages, and when I printed my resume the software placed weired lines and boxes on my resume. I've contacted tech support, and they are unsure as to what the problem might be. They've asked me to switch printers, remove the software, and then install the software. We've been going back and forth for about 2 weeks. I've used a previous edition of Resume Maker and I had technical problems with the software, but I assumed it was because my computer was a bit older. As for the content of the software, I do feel that it offers some useful information. You are provided with a resume coach, with tips on the types of resume that may suit you. I'm giving this product 3 stars because of the quality of the software. 2 stars (Disappointed by poor quality software...) - I was very disappointed by this software. Sure it has some good features (that's why I gave 2 instead of 1) but the built in word processor is terrible (Nope, I was not expecting another MS Word but at least expected consistency between various features/parts of the software). One of the supposedly great features of Resumemaker is the ability to preserve some general formatting if you choose to (e.g.) send the resume as plain text (an important thing mind you) in an e-mail. It does so by offering a number of styles for formatting your Resume. For example, for the Summary section, you can choose a bulleted list as formatting style. Resumemaker would create one card for each bullet item you create. If you send the Resume as plain text in an e-mail, Resume maker would format each of these bullet items with a * in front. Corel Wordperfect Office 12 Standard Upgrade

1 stars (Word is much better!) - Due to my laptop crashing I had to use a rental computer to finish my novel by the deadline. I've used word to write 3 books, magazine articles and numerous academic papers and I've always found it easy to use and understand. Wordperfect is a complete pain, the help file is useless and the text often overlaps and looks like it is a typo which makes editing on the screen a nightmare. It was impossible to instructions of formatting a document for double spacing in the help menu (it only tells you that book reports should be double spaced, but doesn't tell you how to make it do it). I will be glad to get my laptop back and go back to work in Word. 1 stars (could not reliably loads jpegs) - I upgraded from version 8 to version 12 because I could not reliably load jpeg format pictures in v. 8. All jpegs were created using Photoshop 7 but only some random subset of them will load into Wordperfect. I have the same problem with v 12. (Microsoft Word takes all jpegs with no problems.) The same problem exists whether using Windows 98 or Windows 2000 professional so it is not likely the OS. This product is of no use to me; I have again wasted $150 on Corel Wordperfect. However this was their last chance with me. I guess, long live the Microsoft monopoly. 5 stars (The better word processing program) - I don't have much use for anything in the suite except WordPerfect. I've been using WordPerfect since before Windows, when it had a blue or a green screen, displayed mostly ASCII characters, there were no fonts except courier, and laser printers cost a small fortune. I work for a number of attorneys -- WordPerfect is the software of choice for wordprocessing in most offices I've worked in because, in my opinion, it is the better product for the job. Wizcom InfoScan IS1000 Pen Scanner

4 stars (Works as billed) - Before I bought this pen I looked at most of the reviews for other hand held scanners on the market. It seems to be the case that either they works or they don't. In my case it seems to work perfect. Well perfect as in about 5 mistakes in about a hundred words, in other words abouth 1 in 20. This actually isn't as bad as it seems and perhaps I expected the worst but I find this quite tolerable and readable. In addition if the reviews I read are correct, there is a slight learning curve so hopefully it will get better. I haven't had a lot of time to play with the software but is seems to work pretty seamlessly in a Win XP box with SP 2 installed. Install the software, plug in the USB cable, plug in the pen and voila it works (actually it didn't work the first time but it turned out that I hadn't pushed the pen side plug in fully, it should click) Overall it works as billed and for $90-$25 rebate = $65 its a bargain in comparison to the c-pens which start at $165 !! The trick now is actually using it. If your interested here is a scan of a paragraph. Its about my third try.
